Hi Friends and Family!
Welcome to our blog. We're excited to share our adventures, photos, and reflections during our travels in South America for the next six months. During this time we are traveling to Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil. By the end of this, we will be transformed and perhaps grow a few more wrinkles and a kickass Chaco tan. We plan to post at least once a week, stay tuned and feel free to comment or ask questions. The intention is to write about our experience and to strengthen my writing. I'm going out of my element here but hey, it's part of the fun, right? I might even write my reflections during this time away from the U.S. and dare say things could get philosophical at times.
Finally, you might be wondering about the name. The name comes from an inside joke between Paul and me. In the early days of our love story sometimes the word "love" wasn't enough to express what we felt for one another so we came up with something to symbolize it. We were quirky and silly and were feeling something unique so we used the word ugoomblogger to reflect such feelings. While admittedly it may be something we didn't invent, it is something we express as a way of saying "I love you". Coincidently the word pairs nicely with this endeavor and blogging concept. We're using it to express our love to those reading and to the beautiful places we'll visit. Enjoy the ride, we send ugoomblogger (love) to you.
