Hi Friends and Family! As you might have noticed my blog posting has significantly dwindled over the past months. Who would’ve thought that travel would keep us so busy! Even with decent internet, Paul and I find ourselves occupied with planning other parts of travels, adjusting travel plans (hello, Peru! More on that soon), or catching up with friends all which have kept blogging in the back burner. That said, it’s important for us to share our adventures even if it’s just for our future kiddos that may want to read about our travels in South America. I’m going to retroactively share some of our stories from the previous places we visited which include, mainland Ecuador, Galapagos, Peru, Santiago and Atacama.
I’m currently writing this update from Puerto Natales, Chile on the eve of our adventure to Torres del Paine National Park. We’re doing the O-Circuit so I really want to feel caught up with our posts because I have a strong inclination that this upcoming adventure will surface many feelings and thoughts and I want to have a fresh mindset. Besides, its the leg of the trip that Paul and I have most anticipated. Stay tuned for a post soon after January 28th. In the meantime, enjoy these photos of Paul and I in Punta Arenas and Puerto Natales below.
We had the special treat of visiting King Penguins in Isla del Fuego a few days ago and it was quite an incredible experience to see these Antarctic beings - they are adorably majestic. We got there by traveling across the infamous Strait of Magellan and even spotted some Commerson’s dolphins on the ferry. We’ve been keeping our time low key since arriving from the Atacama partly because we had very long overnight airport stays with minimal sleep followed by getting super sick just days after arriving to Patagonia. Not to mention we had to buy some camping gear for our trek in Torres del Paine and trip to Carretera Austral. All that said, I’m so grateful to have seen the King Penguins and enjoy afternoon strolls with fresh summer breeze in Patagonia. Okay without further ado, I shall present to you a few reflections from the places mentioned above in corresponding posts - stay tuned!
PS - Blogger site is more old school than expected and uploading photos is so cumbersome. Hope to master it soon enough, but until then please enjoy the photos below.
